hese images represent my experimental work over the last several
years. Each sketch was drawn on paper, scanned into Photoshop5, where they were
painted using a Wacom digital drawing board. The 12" X 12" drawing surface
and comfortably shaped pen has elevated my work to an new levels of creativity. The
freedom allowed by the computer, because of it's ability to undo, promotes almost infinite
experimentation, while preserving a painterly feel. The piece called
"Jeans" and the Barney Frank and Justin Timberlake caricatures were painted
using the Wacom board. "Scared Straight," was my first professional
commission. The Advocate asked me to draw the picture to Illustrate a Bruce Vilanch
column in the February 15, 2000 issue. Advocate project 2, 3, and 4 appeared in the
March on Washington issue published in April, 2000.
