ete Townshend's portrait is another
product of my Who fan period. For some reason, I was enamored with his enormous nose.
Therefor I decided to combine a 3/4 turn and a profile view to emphasize it. This picture
is my most original composition, having combined two entirely seperate source photos into
a unique arrangement. Amazingly, this was done on white paper, requiring large amounts of
black charcoal for the background. Somehow, the whites and greys stayed clean and bright.
Soon after completing this, I rather compulsively started giving away my painting and
drawings. Perhaps I knew I was about to enter a new creative phase. Whatever the reason,
this one went to my dear college friend Dennis Hinton.
