eter Davison was the fifth actor to
play the British science fiction hero Dr. Who. I was a great Dr. Who fan in college. This
picture clearly shows the advantages of mapping the features properly before beginning.
Since I didn't do it here, the head is slightly distorted and the likeness not quite
right. Still, I'm rather proud of the way the clothing is handled. The sweater especially
suggests a realistic knit texture. The jacket is also effectively rendered. Despite the
facial problems, I count this, my first 3/4 figure piece, a qualified success. This
picture was given to Franklin Bodine, my roomate in college and grad school, since he
loved The Doctor as much as I. For a while, it hung in his office at the University of
Illinois.
